Black Girls Like Craft Beer?

Cleveland’s craft brewing scene is rapidly growing and making us beer lovers lose our minds. Masthead Brewing Co. is the latest brewery to grace our city. It’s located right in the heart of downtown on Superior and E.13th right across from Reserve Square.

I attended the grand opening this week and was quite impressed by, well everything. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with the old warehouse design laced with modern character. The staff and bartenders were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The atmosphere was electric and warm. The popular area for taking pictures, the brewing system vats, was my favorite spot. After all, these mighty structures produce the quality craft beer that I was seeking.

Masthead had 6 beers on tap. A blonde ale, stout, winter stout, coffee stout, IPA, and Wit. I was very excited because breweries tend to have a lot of IPA’s on tap and very few of the other beers. These options alone put them at number one on my list, but the beer was delicious. I had the flight, 4 beers of my choice and I was impressed by them all. My favorite one was the winter stout, which was like Christmas Ale, but 20 times better. They definitely exceeded my expectation.

Even if you aren’t into beer, they have cocktail drinks and wine available. The pizza selections were rather large giving you a variety of Neapolitan-style options designed by Chef Nate Seig. Guarantee you won’t be disappointed when you visit Masthead Brewing company. It was a pleasure to welcome Cleveland’s newest gem to the city.
