In the spirit of community and collaboration, Black Girl in the CLE encourages bloggers, experts, community figures, and business owners to share their knowledge and experiences by contributing content for our hashtag campaigns.
What should I write about?
Write about topics that reflect our hashtag campaign. Our current campaigns are:
Real talk- Highlighting causes and people working to improve and empower our community. You can also share your early memories of when you were inspired by seeing someone that looked like you or the importance of Black characters and role models for young people.
Black Girls Shop Small - spotlighting small local businesses all year long
Take Care Sis - spotlighting ways to be fit - physically, financially, mentally, and socially (and in whatever way you get fit)
From Cleveland to...- We're all about the experience of being a Black Girl living in Cleveland and sometimes that means leaving town. Tell us and our readers the cool things about the cities, countries or festivals you attended.
Cleveland Adventures- Our home page. Tell us about the cool places you visited in the city. Include tips and info for others that may want to visit based on your article.
PLEASE NOTE: We are only accepting post from African-American women from the Cleveland area for our Shop Small, campaigns.
What makes a good post for Black Girl in the CLE?
An upbeat, friendly tone that does not denigrate an individual or business. Be respectful and refrain from using offensive and profane language.
Add interesting detail and a unique flare to content so that it keeps readers interested and engaged.
Write blog posts that are no less than 300 words.
Submit work that has no spelling, punctuation, or grammatical errors.
Submit at least one picture or graphics related to the topic. -Use your own graphics or graphics that fall under Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. Please note: graphics snagged from the Internet and used without permission will make your post ineligible for posting on the website. (If your post is accepted, you will be contacted on where to send your photos)
Promote published content on your social media channels and use one or more of the following hashtags on IG and Twitter: #blackgirlincle and #CLEblackgirl
