“They Open A Door And Enter A World”. ― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

by Alyssa Dimes

As a lover of the film and Narnia novels, my inner child lept at the chance to visit Coco’s Narnia. An immersive adventure into the magical world that many of us attempted to visit by opening all the closet doors we could as children.

I closed my eyes as I opened the 10 foot tall Narnia wardrobe donned with golden lion head door knockers and stepped through the furs into Narnia. Yes, real furs! The enchanted winter white walkway covered in snow and icicles lead me to the room of the White Witch and Aslan, where I met Mr. and Mrs. Beaver by the warm fire.

From there I journeyed through the white forest dodging and ducking branches along the way. This simple touch made the forest feel more authentic like I was actually hiking my way through. I tried to remember what the characters would encounter next and then I stumbled upon Mr. Tumnus’ home. Mr.Tumnus’ place was perfectly decorated and ready for visitors. I immediately felt as if I’d be joining him for tea.

This experience was made complete by photo opportunities. Along with walking throughout Coco’s Down Under, Coco’s lower level of 20,000 sq ft. of coolness, you can sit and order hot cocoa from the Coco Bar! This event is a wonderful way to kick off the giving season as all ticket sales will be donated back to at-risk youth.
