CLEVELAND (AP) — As temperatures rise and summer settles in, the Cleveland Division of Fire is inviting residents to beat the heat and indulge in some delicious ice cream at their upcoming “Ice Cream Social” Open Houses. The events will kick off this Saturday, June 24th, from 11am to 3pm at Cleveland Fire Station 41, located at 3090 East 116th Street next to Luke Easter Park.
Cleveland Fire Chief Anthony Luke expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “our Ice Cream Socials are a great chance for the community to meet Cleveland Firefighters in a non-emergency environment. Children can sit in the fire trucks, tour the stations, and enjoy free hamburgers, hot dogs, and some delicious ice cream.”
The Ice Cream Socials will not only feature tasty frozen treats but will also provide valuable information on fire safety tips and safety forces recruitment. Representatives from various organizations, including City Dogs, Cleveland EMS, Cleveland Water, Cleveland Public Power, Red Cross, and Cleveland Public Library will be at tables to provide information. Additionally, several elected officials, including an appearance by Mayor Justin M. Bibb, are expected to attend these events.
The Ice Cream Socials are made possible through a generous donation from MetroHealth. Pierre’s and Honey Hut, local ice cream establishments, have also stepped up to contribute their delicious ice cream offerings for the community to enjoy.
