Hello, I am Tabitha Jennings, better known as Tabi. I was raised in Euclid, OH, and am now a proud resident of Cleveland, OH. I am passionate about public health with a specific focus on holistic health for minority women in underserved communities. I am a wife and mother of two young boys, and I love and cherish spending time with my family. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new adventures and love keeping my kids busy and exposing them to positive experiences and activities. I want to write for Black Girl in CLE to provide a unique viewpoint for millennial black mothers and bring insightful information on women’s health, lifestyle and events in the city.
My blog A Natural Journey to Love was self-published in 2018 to share my experience of being a black woman diagnosed with infertility and how I overcame it to conceive my first son naturally. The blog blossomed and I was able to use it as a platform to host two successful Holistic Health Summits in Cleveland. The summits focused on showcasing some of the top Cleveland holistic health professionals and vendors who sold natural products and services. I hosted panel discussions and Q&As with the attendees and provided tons of giveaways. In 2020 I created and hosted A Natural Journey to Love podcast on Apple Music where I did a weekly take on holistic health topics, relationships, and more with special guests from Cleveland. Through my own personal interest and research, I began crafting and selling Irish Sea Moss gel, Elderberry syrup and other herbal products.
I plan to share tips and stories that will educate, encourage, and empower mothers in Cleveland to explore the city and try out new adventures for themselves and their families. I will focus on highlighting stories that will shine light on necessary issues to address systemic failures in Cleveland and provide a positive impact for the black women often affected. Bringing a voice and equipping black women with the power of knowledge to empower themselves.
