The countdown has officially begun for the highly anticipated 2024 BorderLight Theatre Festival, set to illuminate Cleveland’s Playhouse Square with four days of performances from July 24 to 27. Featuring a mix of established and emerging artists spanning various theatrical genres, this year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for audiences.
As one of the newest fringe festivals globally, BorderLight serves as a vital platform for independent artists and companies to showcase their creativity and connect with diverse audiences. Since its inception in 2019, the festival has quickly established itself as a beacon of innovation and inclusivity in the arts community.

“BorderLight Theatre Festival proudly presents a groundbreaking lineup where theatre meets societal urgency,” remarked Executive and Artistic Director Dale Heinen. “Our curated selection of performances explores themes ranging from the pressing issue of loneliness to profound reflections on belonging, racism, music, identity, and love. With a diverse array of styles including puppetry, physical theatre, improvisation, audience interaction, and dance, these award-winning productions are sure to captivate and inspire audiences in Cleveland.”
