On Sunday, November 30th, the KeyBank State Theater jump-started the holiday spirit with its annual Jingle Bell Jamboree. It was truly the kind of event that reminds you why the holiday season feels so magical. From the moment everyone walked into the lobby doors, the atmosphere felt festive and full of anticipation. Santa and his elf greeted families, taking photos and listening to children’s gift wishes. Dogs from shelters across Northeast Ohio wagged their tails as attendees stopped to pet them and offer affection. Happiness filled the space instantly. Families walked around in cozy winter outfits, and kids stared wide-eyed at the decorations. Everyone seemed ready to be transported into the world of music, color, and Christmas cheer.

Once the show began, the theatre became even more magical. The stage lighting shifted from icy blues to warm golds, creating beautiful scenes that brought the songs and dance numbers to life. Every transition was smooth and visually captivating, pulling the audience deeper into the festive world the performers created.
The performers were undeniably the heart of the entire experience. The Cleveland Pops Orchestra delivered a lush sound throughout the whole evening. With performances by Natalie Green, Jack Schantz, and dancers from Christina Lindhout & Artists, the performance felt much bigger. Classic holiday songs like Jingle Bells, Frosty the Snowman, and even Feliz Navidad with a Latin twist had everyone clapping and singing along. Guest vocalist Natalie Green contributed additional standout performances later in the show, including elegant renditions of White Christmas, Santa Baby, and The Christmas Sing. The warm applause was well deserved after each number. The evening also featured Matt Underwood, the Cleveland Guardians announcer, who narrated The Night Before Christmas. His expressive reading brought a storytelling element that delighted both children and adults.

Although the concert did not feature characters or theatrical scenes, the conductor, Carl Topilow, provided a lively and humorous presence. His jokes, quick comments, and relaxed interactions kept the concert flowing smoothly and made the entire auditorium laugh at several moments. One of the most memorable highlights occurred during the orchestra’s performance of Sleigh Ride. The conductor invited a group of children onstage to play sleigh bells alongside the musicians. Their excitement and synchronized ringing created a heartwarming moment that melted the entire audience.
The Jingle Bell Jamboree succeeded in bringing holiday magic to the KeyBank State Theater. With its blend of orchestral music, guest performers, storytelling, and much more, the concert offered an uplifting and memorable kickoff to the holiday season. It stood not only as a musical event but as a celebration of togetherness, tradition, and festive joy—a true reminder of what makes this time of year so special.
