A Festival Rooted in History
Since its inception in 1990, the Chalk Festival has drawn inspiration from the 16th-century Italian custom where artists used chalk to recreate masterpieces on cathedral plazas. This year, attendees will witness vibrant chalk creations by professional artists, community groups, families, and individuals, all contributing to a weekend of creativity and community.
Featured artists include John G., Ke Gray, Danté Rodriguez, Lacy Talley, and Rafael Valdivieso, along with talented illustration students from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Notably, artist and disability rights advocate John G. will highlight the festival’s accessibility, ensuring that people of all abilities can fully participate.
