It is holiday time in the CLE and what better way to bring in the holiday cheer than to have a nice night out? If you are looking to take some holiday photos with your family or just want a nice date night idea then you need to check out Frost located at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens.
Upon entering Frost I was in awe of their 20-foot tall beautiful living Christmas tree. What an introduction to their new holiday exhibit! Frost has transformed the indoor and outdoor gardens into an immersive new world for the holiday season. The delightful entryway sparked my holiday cheer and excited me for the adventure. My favorite part of the holiday season is seeing beautiful lights. This exhibit brings the perfect mixture of art, nature, and the holiday spirit to create a serene calmness and peace.
I started with the Frost Portal and was mesmerized by the enchanting blue lights and beautifully crafted tunnel of flowers. I found myself captivated by the array of flower combinations along the wall. This pathway led me into an innovative winter wonderland made up of lifelike replicas, hand-crafted and designed by local artists. This crafty play area was not only for adults but made with children in mind featuring interactive areas such as a Christmas tree light-up tunnel and a light peg board. I even joined in on the fun and left my mark for others to see.
I was blown away by the intricate details and imagination that went into crafting these pieces. They were all beautiful and uniquely designed to truly capture the essence of winter. My favorite piece was what I called the Eskimo princess because she stood tall and captivated the room as strong women tend to do.
Next, I entered the Icicle Alleys which featured themed holiday wreaths decorated by local garden clubs. Who doesn’t love a gorgeous wreath on their door? But these were not your neighbors’ basic pine leaves with lights; they were elaborate and distinguishable. The garden clubs did an awesome job customizing their wreaths and Christmas trees, bringing their themes to life before your eyes.
The Lake Effect Lodge provided seating for those who may need to take a snack or water break before walking the entire exhibit. Inside the lodge, you can view more themed Christmas trees and flowers as you rest and recharge.
After that, I headed into the Jingle Jungle which was a magical forest with stunning decorative lighting accentuating the wildlife throughout a short walkway. As I entered the jungle the peaceful sound of the mini waterfall and the chirping of birds made me feel like I was in the rainforest. There were vines draped throughout the large trees and you could even catch a butterfly flying past you if you’re lucky.
Last but not least and very sweet I entered the Gingerbread Jamboree. The delightful scents of cookies, candies, and icing filled the air immediately. This room featured candy-coated creations that were constructed by community confectioners of all ages. There were over 100 gingerbread house creations throughout the entire building so make sure to remember your favorite to vote for.
If you are struggling with the winter blues then going to Frost is guaranteed to brighten up your day with their dazzling light installations, floral arrangements, and engaging attractions. When you visit let us know what was your favorite exhibit area and themed Christmas tree.
